Can we create our own Reality?

Very interesting topic here…

It’s interesting how we always want to know how something works, what the right way is, how the world really works…

It’s the mind, functioning as it’s meant to - which is to orient and attach definition and meaning. So it knows where it is. The mind has a functional purpose. And, it can be dysfunctional when we want to “know” how things work to eliminate uncertainty, and stay “safe” and “in control”.

Are we creators of our own reality? I personally don’t think we can prove it 100% and guarantee it on file. However, it seems to make more sense to be creating my life, to be the predominant creative force directing and painting my life… than it is to to adopt the reverse - which strikes me as more of a “victim mind-set”, i.e. unfortunately, this is how it is because life is “happening to me” and I have no control or say over it.

It also seems to support a “lighter” existence, i.e. It’s all about NOW. Creating NOW. Instead of lugging all the reasons, events, messed up child-hood, parents, etc.etc. in the past which would justify all the limitations and reasons why life sucks today.

Now, I did say “predominant creative force”… because we are not isolated and separate in our existence. I feel the universe is working with us and “lining things up”, depending on whether we banging the gong of what we DON’T want (in which case we get AND SEE) more of what we don’t want… or whether we are banging the gong of what we DO WANT.

Whether or not it works, even from a strategic standpoint, if I had to choose “artillery” so to speak in this life time, I would choose to “take charge” rather than be reactive and play victim to life and it’s circumstances.

How does this relate to yoga? I feel it goes to the very heart of yoga. Taking yoga off the mat, and integrating it in our daily life (which is the more challenging bit…) I would need to acknowledge, believe and celebrate my own divinity, my own greatness - and acknowledge and celebrate it in others. (Namaste).

I choose to see myself as whole and complete… instead of fractured, incomplete, or unworthy.

I choose to live in the present moment. Quieting the mental chatter. Working with my yoga tools/ practice/ breathing, to consistently align my body, mind, breath, emotions… with my Inner Being - which is that core part of me that is truly me - and quite often different from my personality (the egoic projection of me).

As I practice being present and in-touch with my Inner-Being, I live out and nurture that which juices-up my soul. I create from my inner passion. I create from my “pure-potentiality”.

And there is no mind to plant doubts. There is no room to feel unworthy. Any sabotage tendencies are held at bay. In this space of wholeness, we claim our Divinity, and Create from our bliss. There is no past or future. Only NOW.

I was asked once whether there has been anything in my life I really wanted that I didn’t get. I realised that if it was simple in my mind, I always got what I wanted. No “ifs” or “buts”. The moments when I didn’t get what I wanted, at the end of all the excuses, it was I who stood in my way. As Abraham-Hicks says, it’s just like driving from Texas to San Diego. You just keep driving. Some of us struggle in the middle, have doubts, go around in circles, and then finally decide that San Diego is an “impossibility”, and turn back around.

Just keep going. Creators play at the edge of uncertainty. We don’t know what will happen, because we’re creating. That’s the whole exciting thing about it all. We don’t create from patterns in the past. We choose to move through and past our comfort-zones.

Namaste.
