Did you know you shouldn't drink acidic water that wild pigs, rats, and ducks utilize
With no disrespect to Brother Neil, I personally do not advise a salt water cleanse as it can be very harsh on the digestive system and bowels.

No offense taken here brother. it being harsh is one of the reasons I said it is done rarely and also why I pointed him towards the AYP writings on these things as yogani is better suited to teach these thngs then I.

Peace be with you
Brother Neil

Looks like it’s time for a serious change in diet.
Time to stop drinking pig water

Is it possible that Candida may have gotten in my gut and is what is causing all this pain?

By “gut” you mean something other than the aforementioned colon and intestines? Yes it is absolutely possible. I was operating under the premise that you, David, had accurately “diagnosed” your issue as I do not at all do diagnosis.

I don’t yet have a formal diagnosis as to what is causing the pain in my lower right side and occasional other areas of my intestines. That’s why they’re checking for parasites next. BUT, I definitely have (diagnosed) yeast in other areas of my body including a nice red rash on my chest, which makes me wonder if that’s what the pain in my side is: intestinal candida. The symptoms definitely fit.

Also look into colon hydrotherapy. It’s a bit safer than enemas and far more effective as it gets further along the the gastro-intestinal tract.

I don’t know if there’s a clinic in Hawaii or if there is whether it’s sound or not. And I don’t know whether it is allowed with your current condition. But look into it.

HOLY CRAVINGS. I want some M&M’s dammit! sob

Radical changes in diet sure can wreak havoc on the mind and emotions. It’s amazing what we’re at the mercy of and how my mind sure tries to justify things.

I’m still waiting to hear back on my food allergies test and from the guy who is lucky enough to sift through my poo. But I did hear back that my CBC’s are normal for the first time in a long time.

In other news, I’ve been eating tons of cashews since they’re on the can eat list. It turns out that if I eat enough cashews, the trace amounts of urushiol (same stuff in poison oak and mangoes) in them cause me to break out. :frowning: I’m such a delicate little flower.

David,

Aloe Very juice/gel is know for its anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral anti-inflammatory, anti-biotic, anti-microbial and anti-septic properties. In SA we get a gel form of aloe vera juice that you can drink, it tastes actually rather pleasant. Worth trying?

Thanks Pandara!

I got a bunch of them in the back yard. I just pluck a leaf, slice it, strip it of its juice and suck it up, its kind of like gooey spit but without much flavor

Which “can eat” list are you referring to?

You make it sound so appetizing! lol

Interesting how synchronicity works - I read this thread, and develop a yeast infection of my own! I’m guessing sugar is right out for eating during this time?
Maybe I’ll go buy an aloe vera plant.

well it does not taste good, but it doesnt taste bad, a pretty neatral taste which makes it easy to do. about like drinking water for me. I did eat a chocolate chip cookie today though.

I took a fluconazole tablet to get rid of the infection, though I question the safety of a medication that affects my ability to think so badly for most of the day when I first take it. I cannot abide the pain and discomfort of the infection :frowning:

Do you really feel the aloe vera will make a big difference? We hear about sooo many different remedies for things, and often they rarely make much difference at all for most.

My poo test came back negative. No little critters swimming around so I can take back the flea collar I purchased for myself.

It seems quite a few people are affected by fluconazole. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones who didn’t have any side effects. I read everything I can on meds before I take them and from what I can tell, taking one fluconazole isn’t going to cause much if any trouble for you. However, some people are prescribed regular doses and they have to be monitored for all kinds of potential issues including but not limited to turning into a frog.

Hey David. Ever looked into paleo/primal diets? This is the basic outline: paleonu.com/get-started/. I went 100% primal (which is basically paleo, with a tad more dairy) a few months ago, and have been feeling great.

I did experience carb fatigue for about a week (less energy and a dull headache as I came off my pasta dependency). Though since then, I’ve had more energy and have felt awesome. My diet now consists mostly of pastured meats (beef and chicken, primarily, but I do love me some bacon), plenty of veggies, some fruit (berries, mostly), and eggs. This is one of my favorite primal lifestyle blogs: marksdailyapple.com

(You’ll have to manually copy the links, I don’t have enough posts to post normal links)

David, having a Candida infection in a level to actually cause any symptom its very very rare in any patient with a normal immune system. When you find a Candida infection in the gastrointestinal tract, you start looking for HIV or a Tumor, so I highly doubt that’s what you should be looking for.

Have you been tested for something like celiac disease? Gluten allergy? Lactose Intolerance? Irritative Colon? Any can happen at a late age and might be more probable than a Yeast infection

"Anyway, while I have a pill for the yeast now, I’m curious if there are any dietary (or other) recommendations anyone here might have to make sure I stop baking bread "

David, have you tried Probiotics? I live in an area where the water is treated with high levels of chlorine. Although I use a Santevia water system and put a filter on my shower head, I also take a daily dose of probiotics to keep those good bacteria in tack (which help fight yeast too). I also try to add a tablespoon or two of unpasteurized sauerkraut to my dinner to help with this too.

Best of luck.

some things i Just dont care to question anymore. there are a lot of studies that say aloe is good for you, I have a bunch of plants in the backyard, so I just do it. Does it make a BIG difference, not really looking for a miracle from the aloe, just a little help. all of the things that I do that may help, I may not always feel the effects but that does not necessarily mean there isn’t one and that they wont help in the long run.

This.

Breaking the Vicious Cycle. Amazon it and google it.

Thank you all for your wonderful insight and suggestions.

I get the results from my LEAP test in about a week.

At this point, the issue with my guts persists. In fact, it has spread to my left side as well. I’ve had so many medical tests it’s crazy, and they can’t find anything wrong. So now I’m wondering if it’s something RIGHT. My body and other aspects of me have been going through quite a transformation as of late. When it comes to feeling different, my ego takes over and I often feel fear. Letting go of this attachment has been an interesting and difficult process.

Last night I couldn’t sleep because of what I’m feeling in my gut. I’m currently staying with my girlfriend’s family in the midwest. I finally got up at 4am and went for a run, not knowing where I was going. Next thing I knew, I was at the entrance to a cemetery. I decided to enter and spent the next half hour walking around the cemetery in the middle of the night pondering my fear of death amongst countless dead people.

What’s going on with me MAY be serious medical issue, but it’s giving me so much perspective. Yes, what’s going on with my gut is right. Cultivate the opposite, right?
