Have you ever had any injury becasue of yoga?

I broke my bedroom door trying to do headstands and bruised my leg.
Do you do the Matsya asan after Shirsasan ? This asan releases the compression caused in the neck by Shirsasan, Sarvangaasan & Halasan. Try it out and your stiff neck should vanish.
I do it after sarvangasana, it’s how I was tuaght and it makes sense. I’ve never really thought of doing it after headstand. I’ll try that. Thanks for the tip.

OK, if we’re talking about those kind of injuries I did (not too long ago actually) fall over while doing headstand and hadn’t thought about what was in front of me when I fell. It was a window, a radiator and on the floor an oil lamp that was actually burning. I managed to stop part of the fall with my feet against the radiator and that made the crash onto the oil lamp a little less hard but I had a pretty deep cut in my back. No serious damage done though and the oil lamp, which is made out of glass, did not break.

The whole story should be filed under “total idiot”.
hi everyone!
i practise ashtanga yoga 3 years. and i am so exciting by this form of activity that i decided to write my diploma thesis about injury in yoga.

Would like to ask you. HAVE U EVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH BACK PAIN, KNEES, LIGAMENTS, BONES FRACTURE-that you connect with yoga pracise? if YES-which position caused this problem?
I have knee problem. I think this is because I used to love full lotus pose and alike knee-twisting poses.

If you train with good teacher and always read books - you will be fine. Just stay away from lotus and do not force you body in the position that feels very unnatural and painful

i was doing a headstand and flipped over and landed (somehow) on my pinky finger which then immediately got puffy and black and blue. lol. I dont think I broke it though…

I also have hyper extension issues, so if I’m not mindful of what I’m doing when I’m stretching (particularly in downward facing dog) I can wrench my knees. . .

Lately I’ve found yoga is helping my wrist pain, but sometimes I have to be mindful of my wrists in certain arm balances…but so far no real injuries. lol. I tend to be accident prone…prolly not the best person to answer this question.
