fasting is not healthy for your body at all. your body’s metabolism slows down because it doesnt want to use your body’s fat up too fast. then once u start eating again you weight will increase dramatically because of ur slow metabolism.

how can you make such a cut and dry statement? Do not animals do it when they get sick?

some of the most important aspects of fast is how you reintroduce food after the fast
For some people maybe it is not good, does not mean for all
like many things in life, it is up to us to find our own truth through experience.
Sick animals are not always guided to behaviors that will bring them health; sometimes an animal’s fast is simply a symptom of the illness. Anula, I say you have a great summary there.
– So, I had an interesting experience after I waited appropriately for my lunch this afternoon. When I reached for my lunch bag I noticed that I started to salivate and had no stray thoughts going on. I was totally focused on going about my lunch. This was accidental, so I’ll not call it meditation, but it was a glimpse of what I look forward to when I do meditate.

I think that it is important to ‘listen’ to your own body and know its needs. As with any practice, too much of a good thing may be destructive and weakening.
The bad does not come from bad things, but from the abuse of good things.
Arthur Schopenhauer
Fasting really helps you to get rid of toxins. It cleans your body & keeps you active. If practiced within limits it really helps to get away with commond diseases.
Thank you so much for all your advice, I’m looking at some different types of fasting now and I am going to try at least one once to see how it makes me feel. Thanks everyone so much, you’ve all been really helpful.
Good luck with whatever type of fasting you try!
