Is it safe to awaken Kundalini?

hi every body,
there are lots of misgivings about kundalini. I have done research on the subject since my wife took to bed due to serious illness, For about 12 years i am practicing yoga and reading all classical hatha yoga and raja yoga literature where ever i can lay my hands on to.
Kundalini is nothing but a kind of energy more profound than prana, its purpose is to rise along the susmana to clear the three blockages, known as granthies, so that prana can start flowing as these granthies are broken, prana rises up to that particular chakra, there by invigorating those chakras and the seeker gets Siddhies, particularly after visuddhi chakra located at the throat. If you can raise the prana to sahsara than you become jeevan mikta siddha, with all eight siddhies as mentioned by patanjali.
As per classical yoga literature, one gets established in Yoga if on does Yoga four times in a day at prescribed times, minimum of 80 kumbhaks in one sitting.
after about 14 years one can expect to achieve sidddhies provided you are following proper yam and niyams, after his prana reaches the crown chakra.
Its a rigorous practice, unlike what has been said in this thread.
If on has not fully followed Yam and niyam and not got rid of varrties of chitta and some how gets its kundalni woken up than one is asking for trouble.
the lower three chakras have all good and bad feelings, depending on whether you are in sattivk, rajsic or tamsic state. if one has not got rid of say, his sexual desire than kundalini will make you go mad by enhancing that feeling and you will be thinking about sex all the while, it happens when the kundalini rises to the second chakra . similarly for other two lower chakras.
if some one thinks his kundalini as awaken than he is living in fools paradise, because you will either be in a kundalini crisis state or a person with abnormal power.

Dear one, read these Testimonials and then we can discuss again about Kundalini.

I am not confused about what kundalini is or what kundalini awakening is. I know what I experienced regarding kundalini and I know as much as I can know about where I am on my spiritual path. Not because someone told me it is what I did or didn’t experience, but because when I surrendered to Goddess, she told me herself.

Above all, I listen to my spirit and surrender to Goddess (God, Supreme, or whatever term you choose). I am not one to blindly follow and put my faith in people, when the spirit is so readily available. Why have a middle man? I just surrender to her and I have had wonderful experiences and growth as a result. At times she leads me to human teachers and when she does, I put my faith in them as a result of my faith in her.

Based on my experiences, when I am confused about something, it is certain a growth experience is on the horizon and that in surrendering to Goddess, my confusion will be cleared.

Rather, I am confused by the invalidation in this thread. No one here is an authority on what one has truly experienced or what one has not truly experienced. While we can have an inner knowing, referred to as faith, it is still ultimately subjective as is the entire human experience.

Samarjit, I am awaiting a book I ordered so that I may read Pantajali. I know that it will help to enrich my understanding of spirit.
Above all, I listen to my spirit and surrender to Goddess
This is very wise and consistent with advises of Shri Adi Sankaracharya.

why we don’t understand that awaken of Kundali is not possible with human being now a days who claims that they awaking this power its not possible is the theory of nature that if any one get this power he/she should be capabilities just like today if normal person become President / Prime minister he /she will able take this pressure just like become Kundali awakening process he should be 100% true in heart & soul / Education etc which only possible with new born baby with 100% true heart .

So many thoughts, so many opinions, so many believes :).

That which is capable of being completely unaffected while that amount of arguments arise worldwide, must itself be worth taking a look at!

Confusion happens when we focus on the individual aspects of life and try to describe them, to provide them with an identity.

All is simply a perception within awareness, like dreams at night are merely perceptions within the mind. There are no real objects out there that need analyzing in your dream, all is pure perception of and within mind.

Similarly, all we discuss here, are just perceptions within awareness.

Confusion is resolved, once attention becomes aware of this and no longer tries to pinpoint, define, anything.

Remember who you are, forget about all else.

Love,
Bentinho.

Bentinho and all,

Like sleep, this is very beautiful, but void of content in my opinion. Fluff! How does attention become aware? All by itself? Are dreams only of mind? You define dreams here as mind, as well as “all is pure perception of and within mind,” and that…“All is simply a perception within awareness.” Do you think these are helpful here? And what does it have to do with kundalini, which is part of animal nature out of which mind evolved?

I respect your views because I understand you, but you’re careless here, expressing lack of faith in yoga and people, and underestimate your own potential. What you write here is a lazy type of dribble that only spins on itself and does far more to confound you than to illuminate. Do not become complacent in these types of head trips. It’s still far more work than this. You have given up too soon.

I have never read a more clear definition of art or love.

with respect,
siva

Dear Siva,

Indeed it is void of content! I am glad you understand.

Texts like these have no thoughtful substance to them. They serve only to balance things out.

Even though I did not use the word kundalini once, my previous post has everything to do with the people on this thread and their focus on kundalini. It simply does what is needs to do to those who read it, whether one understands it or not.

My post was not an instruction manual, rather, a poem. One that to many, may not make sense at all. Which is perfectly fine for making sense was not my intention. I did not plan to write much more in this thread than my 2 previous posts, for I do not wish to change topic or make it revolve around me.

I hereby wish everyone the best of luck with their practices. May restful clarity be your guide and may your decisions be made as if not decided upon at all.

As natural and free-flowing as the wind, may you be wherever you go.

Love,
Bentinho.

Bentinho,

We love your light, your thoughts, compassion, and most of all, your poetry.

siva

I thank you.

Bentinho.

I love this stuff. I read lots of it, but it is going to take more time. Thanks for sharing. I just can’t get enough. Keep it coming.
