Seeker33,
Very good graphical illustration
hey just a quick question iv been doin third eye meditaiton and normal meditation for like 7 months now im in the state were i feel pressure but yet no light i noe im near but how long did it take u to see the light thanks
IN the darkness between the brows I look for a tiny little light, its a white/yellow light…when I see it I try and hold on to it…It comes and goes…I lose it but keep looking and looking…when it gets bigger this is the third eye beginning to open. I find that then I am traveling, very fast somewhere undetermined. (you can intervene at this point and determine where you go, I dont) i tend to do this mostly laying on my back, relaxed, eyes closed drawn inwards just a touch, dont think of anything but just look for the light, in the darkness.
Another format you can see is a blue violet light, look past it and into it…this is difficult to explain, you will see a hole appear in the blue/violet light. If your steady in focus at the hole, the hole gets bigger You will then see a scene of some sort, might be real people in real time…all sorts!
Another format is the highest attainment for the Ajna Chakra, the path to the Inner Guru inside you. It helps to have a very tired body so focus isnt distracted by your body. You see red streaks intermingling with the blackness. There is a definite steady pace as you move ahead, watching the red intertwining with blackness. The journey ends with the sight of the seated Guru who is sitting in Lotus position, a real man in sight! He is in a meditative pose, eyes shut index finger to thumbs etc.
Whatever you think will happen so keep it simple like who is that, what does he look like more closely, as you think this your sight moves closer to him. In Buddhism this format is called the red Heart where the inner Guru waits for you to wake him up. When you do, he enters your Brow and sits their at the entrance, a tiny real life Buddha! He comes in and out…the goal is to make him life size…a high attainment…all sorts happen in a positive way…fail him in your thinking, and he goes back to his original state.
I should point out that when you are in this state with the inner guru at your brow, the third eye is permanently open. You will have very powerful abilities but your mind must stay ‘clear and bright’, as the Buddhists say.
The ajna chakra is best worked at with the heart chakra.
I read above somewhere that someone has put that you needn’t worry about Ajna chakra.
I have to disagree with this. Wrong use can be damaging and cause Brain tumours and abscesses, eye, sinus, glands under the jaw line, and headache problems, the ajna chakra must be balanced to avoid this. Some people use pure crystals resting on the brow. (I dont do this) I keep my mind as focussed and clear as poss. I dont practice ajna if I am angry, upset, or for whatever reason, lacking in high focus.
Additionally, if the third eye is permanently open you can bring thru beings of the wrong sort into the room you are in, you will see them, Big issue when it happens but thats another thing.
The above info is taken from long experience with this chakra, rather than anything I have read. Although I have read things to back this up
All is factual in experience Right thinking everyday is necessary if you are working with AJNA Chakra and of course any of the upper Chakras, in particular.
Hope this is useful…Interesting is that I never have had any physical experiences that go with the ajna like air, pressure, wind, irritations etc. But I have wth the heart Chakra
Opening or rather activating chakras cannot be an end in itself. In the initial stage, that itself extends over several years, we locate a chakra by associated physical body area. This by itself is approximate. For example, ajna chakra is still described as “between the eye-brows”. or its effetcs are perceived as hot or cold. We need to understand that this very physical terms show that we haven’t yet really elevated awareness to the subtle astral level to which chakras belong.
Though a few may be gifted with ability to envision unusual colors inside the closed eyes that many believe comes from spiritual legacy of earlier lives, not all are so fortunate. Brain’s capacity to decipher and memorize colors and shapes is amazing and a lot of that happens without our conscious knowledge. Very often, these shapes and colors get excited when conscious mind is resting and play their kaleidoscope that tricks us. After all, light is an object; enlightenment is not.
Let us make no mistake. To be able to calm the mind and see colors is no small achievement, but temptation to equate that with awakening chakras may be hasty. Chakras are local functional leaders. Their vitality should be judged by their performance. (A lot of literature already exists)
Likewise, the third eye is not a mere ornament, it should enable us to see what we can’t ordinarily see with the two mortal eyes, particularly within. And one such special “seeing” is of chakras themselves. Then there is no need to assign them any physical address.
so is the thrid eye the easiet charkra to open or the other ones
AWAKEN514 AND SUHAS TAMBE AND ALL
(I have left out huge details for obvious reasons) .The lights I have mentioned are just the focus, before the eye opens. Once you have opened the eye this is when you start seeing what lies beyond in other dimensions, or, anywhere in this world, or past life glimpses, or the markers towards enlightenment all depends on the depth of focus,
Master Buddha used the Ajna Chakra as significant markers towards enlightenment in his teachings in the Suringama Sutra. Here, you will be told what you will see, these are steps of progress, you should look past what you see, taking little notice of it. Masters know the progress of their students by the telling of the scenes when asked
How easy it is to do is dependent on how good you are at pure undistracted focus and nothing more than that so in that sense it could be incredibly easy for one person and the opposite for another. With experience it becomes easier to open the eye because you understand when on the right track. Experience also develops the assets of the ajna Chakra…
Kareng,
That’s what I meant by seeing what you can’t see ordinarily. Thanks for sharing your experience. I understand how tough it is to share this intimate part of the spiritual journey. But, when some vendors dish out “3rd eye opening in 7 easy steps” or “Kundalini power at your fingertips” or such other fast food versions, it is sad besides being harmful to the new-comers.
Thank you Suhas …yes I understand what you mean by fast food versions. I have worried about the responsibilities of transferring information. However, I hope I have included enough about the dangers of improper practice with the Ajna chakra…it is something to take seriously.
Trouble with me is that I have only specific areas of expertise which is… focussed meditation (Dharana) Ajna Chakra and to a lesser extent, the Heart Chakra, spending 41 years to date, so I tend to harp on about it because thats all I know!!..everyone else is so much more knowledgeable in many other areas, I am trying hard to follow but I find myself flipping from the internet searches and back to here again just to understand the language being used.
One of the reasons for not including many other practices is to limit my focussed attention even further…I have a notion that the more I fill in my head the less bright I will make my mind when I am in focussed meditation…so I have tried to keep myself as simple as possible…it does make it hard in reading other posts tho. Im stating this so as not to mislead anyone and so that anyone reading this understands why I don’t join in on posts where the language is difficult for me.
Kareng,
You are absolutely right in not wanting to fill your mind with knowledge about other pathways. As Sage Ramkrishna Paramhansa said, it is better to dig one well deep enough, rather than digging many shallow ones to find water!
I am sailing in the same boat. I have studied and practiced only Sage Patanjali’s raja-yoga and it has been a huge learning for me to hear from other yoga practitioners on this forum. But I find merit in practicing only what little I know. Other views and pathways only expand my mind to grasp how the One presents itself through so many apparently divergent ways. Isn’t that ultimate realization our final goal?
Thank you Suhas, its good to know this.
I like the aspect of silence of your study. There is a huge part of me that relates easily to this. The first 11 years, approx, I spent in silence, it worried some people around me so I began to talk more later.
The thing that was misunderstood during these years was that I had the ability to talk, etc etc but I chose not to. I was alert as anyone else might be, if not more so because I have a great memory for my childhood that they dont have
This long term laid the foundations for Ajna Chakra focus from this silence…if you get me.
