No room to meditate

Having an entire separate meditation room may be a luxury for many people but having a quiet corner as a personal space for meditation and spend some quiet time can be managed even in a small apartment.

You can follow a strategy of a switch to de-stress. Whenever you walk over to your corner you will feel relaxed immediately. But it may take some practice and more patience. The place should be comfortable, clean, and serene, so that it encourages you to stick to your relaxing ritual at a particular time, in a particular spot.

Here are some tips for the meditation space in your home:

> A quiet place with no distractions is all that you require.
> A comfortable room that can provide privacy and away from the major activities of the household is good place. You can take use of a less-used balcony, or an attic.
> A place which has lots of natural light and fresh air to keep you alert.
> A place should be clutter free and away from noisy activities. But should be with views of garden, lake or ocean are just wonderful.
> For seating, you may opt for floor mat of your choice. And for yoga, you may want wooden flooring, a specialized mat or a comfortable carpet.
> If you want you can listen to classical music.
> It is good idea to use sliding/folding screens to create your corner temporarily for a tiny apartment.

Walking meditation gets my vote. It takes some time to master however.

I agree with Yoga & Unity, a dedicated room for meditation is a luxury that only few can afford. What I do is like most of you, wake up early when the family is still asleep. I have a small home-office so I go in there and meditate. Another alternative is find a comfortable nook in a room where you can have some quiet time.

I meditate in my closet or the bathroom sometimes. My friends think it’s crazy but my eyes are closed so I don’t see anything.

yea guys a good time i learned to meditate at is actually 3am, or 6 am…for me its a cosmic time and is known as when “the world is asleep”…its just that they’re is no movement in the home or so…and space is never a factor since your eyes are closed for the most part so there is no need for space…
