I am able to cure myself from sciatica. That is how I started my yoga studio. It took me one and half year but now I am infact able to do many complex asanas. You can visit www.SohamYogaStudio.org to get more details. Thanks
it is extremely important how you will do the asanas, of utmost importance the teacher and that his/her understanding of your problem. I had the sciatica, caused by bulged discs. I could write a book on this. forward bends, probably should not be done right now, not until you strengthen your core, a LOT,…and then many modifications during practice. please do not think you can do what others can…not in the beginning, specialized stretches, don’t even attempt any forward bends sitting or standing. keeping your legs bent on all standing forward stretches. the muscles need to get back into balance, I highly recommend any form of iyengar. also suggest a scan of your back so you know the problem.
Though I have been practicing yoga since childhood , I am one of the victims of Sciatica Pain because of herniated disc that resulted from one accident. I visited almost all known doctors and eventually yoga could fix it. I started my Yoga Studio once my issue was totally eradicated. By grace of God , I don’t feel any pain now.Not only that, many students of mine suffering from Sciatica pain are now out of it. I fixed it by means of few specific asanas plus restorative yoga postures using props (especially ropes and strap). Please note that either you should be well expert if you resolving your issue or you should seek some expert guidance because any mistake can aggravate your issue. Best of luck.
