Martial Arts stretches can be really useful towards Yoga Asanas.

I particularly enjoy the stretches that go towards various Martial Arts kicks, and also the kicks themself can act as a form of stretching.

Many Martial Arts stretches of all various kinds are designed to stretch the most basic and essentially muscles to enable ease of performing Martial Arts moves. These stretches can also be used specifically for the purpose of building the muscles up to be able to enter various Yoga Asanas.
I agree with you
I practiced jka karate for many years when I was young , I have found Shin-shin-toitsu-do most intresting now
I cannot lay flat on my back. I learned from my favorite online teacher that when doing savasana that it was ok to bend my legs…take pressure of my low back. Thank goodness for modifications.
I typically place a bolster under my knees during savasana. I don’t always need to, but with a bolster it means I can fully relax, rather than just bending the knees.
