3-5 Years of Yoga Study (mostly in India)

Hi! I am currently seeking to spend the next few years travelling - but mostly in India. My purpose extends beyond developing my personal yoga practice. At one point the money is going to run out and I would like to live from yoga. Ideally I would like to do so in London. I understand this is a very competitive environment, but my hope is that 3-5 years of intensive study on top of my current practice (I have been doing yoga for several years now) will allow me to make a living even in a major city where the quality of the instructors tends to be high.

So, my question is this: If you had anything up to 5 years where your goals were to:

  1. Develop your personal yoga practice as much as possible,
  2. with a view to teaching in the future and earning a reasonable living
  3. while maintaining your day-to-day costs reasonably low

how would you structure these next few years of your life?

Some points:

  1. I practice mostly Hatha. I also like Iyengar & Yin. Ashtanga I have practiced in the past but it does not resonate with me so much.

  2. I have considered spending time at Kaivalya Dham (Diploma), Bihar School of Yoga (4-month course), Sivananda Ashrams (TTC, Yoga vacations), Mysore (Hatha drop-ins), Rishikesh (200/500 hrs TTC, drop-in classes) and other Ahrams generally, Himalayan Iyengar Yoga (yoga retreats up to full TTC), Arhanta Yoga (200/500 hr) and a bunch of others.

If there is anything else I need to clear up, please let me know.

Any input would be really appreciated!

You can come to our yoga classes for a month or two if you want in Pune. I wont charge you for that but you need to take care of your accommodation nearby. We take hatha yoga in our classes.
