4 or 5 Poses for an old man?

To my suprise, my father asks me for some yogi advice.
He’s always been an avid outdoorsman, rugged kind of guy.
He would endore basketball, weight lifting, and honest hard work, but never would I have guessed that he would seek advice on yoga.
He says
"I may need to get you to show me about 4 or 5 poses and some breathing exercises to get my oxygen flowing good. But remember, I’m an old man.
"
I told him the next time I visit, I’ll have some for him.

The only one’s I Ever reccomend for the proverbial “Which poses would you reccomend” question are Utanasana, Urdhvistasana and maybe chair pose.

What would you guys reccomend?

I taught my 72 year old dad the Joint Freeing Series and it has made HUGE and very positive differences for him.

It’s a great series for anyone, but it’s often the first thing I teach to older practitioners.

Have him to it EVERY day and after 30 days he’ll be feeling like a new man.

my grand 85 yo does supine bound angle for 20minutes in the morning … he says it helps hip to eliminate

How old is your father and what is his current health and fitness level?

60, works construction, 12 hour days, 7 days a week. no known illnesses, no injuries.

Great.
Now are you looking to add to his current state or counter it? Are you wanting to craft an intense set of poses that align with the nature he’s had or a calming set of poses that he may do to free that which is becoming tight due to his living?
