Accidental Kundalini awkening

ndrew:

Try giving up hemp for some time, resume your meditation and report back your experiences after a reasonable time. I know nothing about martial arts (well i practiced Kempo in my childhood) so I don’t know what else to recommend. In Yoga we prepare our bodies for K awakening through asanas and pranayama, but I’m clueless about the rest of systems.

As to candida: It could be a signal you’re immuno-depressed. Yiest infections frequently occur under weakened immunologic systems. You could do the ImuPro 300 blood test and see what foods you should avoid for a time. You could also drink Neem teas, an immuno boosting indian herb. And you could, if would stand it, practice Amaroli (urine therapy), it works wonders.

Good luck

Hi ndrew,

It begs the question:-

What exactly were you doing or could have been doing with respect to practices?

Yoga is a science of cause & effect. You do this and you get that . And it’s usually predicatable if you know what you’re doing, i’e have a bit of knowledge though not always and frequently healthy. There are levers and swtiches in the nervous system.Sometimes they go on automatically because the circuits connect, often through the use of internal manouvres. The chances of doing this without yoga/meditation using the techniques would have to be rare i would say.

When you speak of fire you could be referring to agni, which is digestive fire in the belly and manipura chakra region. Powerful techniques like uudiyana bhanda or combinations of techniques which are unlikely to be appllied together without being involved in progressive sadhana of some sort, i.e postures, breathing and/or meditation could cause this. You may experience a surge of energy as a result of prana moving up the main channel, sushumna nadi…Since you refer to martial arts and a buddhist practice i would be inclined to speculate about what techniques they use however the odds are what they use is the same and the human nervous system is inter connected just like all of yoga…the prominent levers and dials will be the same.Mudras and bhandas may cause premature purification in an insufficently purified subtle nervous system. What can occur is Kundalini the potential energy force will rise but then go back to sleep. This i have heard common if it has not gone much beyond manpiura or belly chakra region.Once the belly chakra is awakenend whatever you do, the techniques tend to become more powerful. It is possible to awaken sushumna but prematurely because you don’t know what you’re doing and you’ve gone into an automatic pilot-mode. Automatic kriyas can occur. The prana can be experienced as mere tingles through individual nadis or surges or jolts even as it meets friction as it moves through bigger channels. You might feel slightly drunk or out of it.But it is usually very pleasant. It can be felt often like an orgasm or like you’ve had a few glasses of red wine… and you may forget your body for a sec while it occurs…You get a release of energy. If you do this too quickly which is the danger then the prana can retreat usualy back down sushumna and leave your nervous system rather disorientated and it can take a long time to recover from it.It can even lead to a type of psychosis especially if you’ve had past drug history or trauma perhaps of one kind or another. At least some of the literature seems to want to suggest that.

What you describe is real to you so that is all that matters.

PREMATURE kUNDALINI AWAKENING(PKA) is/are to be avoided at all costs. Not to be too alarmist about it. So there is a principle that could get more of a mention in some systems of yoga called “self-pacing”.Some systems might put the emphasis on foolowing the moral codes yamas & niyamas pure body & mind etc so Kundalini arises naturally and in it’s own time. It should never be forced.Forcing and working within too short a time-scales is usually the cause behind PKA i have come to believe.Kundali, is like a bud that is going to open some day into a flower…or a child you take special delicate care of. You add a little bit of water each day, you nourish it, take care of it and it will open in it’s own time but it won’t open if you force it.

So it begs the question what exactly do you think you might have been doing practice-wise. It would help if you were a bit more specific… Overly zealous pranayama, or a meditation technique or an overly zealous practice within too short a time-scale are often primary causes i am led to believe.

There is nothing to fear. You just let go. And avoid putting any toxins in your system as this can block the channels too.Best advice if this is the case is to take it easy & rest.Crown activiy is a big give-away often. extreme cases feel like a swarm of activty at the crown-,ie fontanelle region(and third-eye). This usually means it is reconfiguring itself and the sushumna may have undergone an opening. What can happen in the worst of cases is you get a sushumna awakening albeit temporarily as a result of balancing ida and pingala ,the two other main channels relating to either sides of the body and then K what i suspect it does is it retreats back down shushumna nadi the main central channel and you may as result experience an over-active pingal or ida, i.e left & right chanels. It is generally thought that K will only rise when ida and pingal corrresponding to left & right chaneels or sides of the body are adequtely harmonised and in adequate balance. But this as i say in the premature case may only be temporary and the effect of ths is too disorientate the nervous system. K is not so mysterious once you understand it better from a scientific point of view. And science does understand it somehwat, the dynamics etc.It can take time to configure the nervous system after such an event but a kundalin yoga teacher or an experenced yoga teacher, or guru that can prescribe for you apporpriate tools for such a maladjustment or misfortune would be your best bet. You can alternatively try to learn yourself but it can take a long time. Learning how to meditate wuld be your first ally in the event this happened to any practitoner. It happened to me so i feel i can relate from experience. There are grades and different kinds of imbaances that can occur. But it’s usually either a result of forcing and/or too short a time-scales, i.e not self-pacing or not really knowing what you’re doing combined perhaps often with a phenomenon that has been called automatic yoga. This phenomenon occurs when the nervous system automatically goes into automatic kriyas, bhandas etc unconsciously and you go with it. So in this instance you keep an eye out for that kind of behaviour and pace your openings.Make the journey to complete transformation easy, not difficult.Kundalin awakes in it’s own time. It should’nt be forced. How do we know when we are forcing or backing off?. Well if we are invovled in progressive sadhana it can be quite a fine line, a razor’s edge even. We just back off if we are unsure and pace our practices and our routine.

I could not say definititively if this summarises your particular situation or scenario but if you are involved in progressive sadhana then i hope you find these notes helpful. The data on PMK may not be huge because these things can be tricky to deal with for any aspirant. I do hear a number of anecodotal reports of friends of friends/practitioners ending up in loony bins. There really should be more info. You best bet is to famiilarise yourself with the full range of techniques in the yogic sciences if this is the case or seek out a tantric yoga teacher or someone that practices the full breadth of yoga,asana/postures, pranayam, meditation techniques and other esoteric stuff.Meditation is your greatest ally.If things were really bad you could start off using a global purifier like deep meditation(see aypste.org)followed by their spinal breathing may help matters too and then if this did not work completely then move towards learning how to balance the third-eye.But there is nothing to worry about. In time it will sort itself out if this is the case here.Hey you end learning more about yoga and delviing more deeply as a result. You can become a bit more wiser as a result.Patience is the key in this kind of a scenario and a decent enough handle and knowledge of all the techniques within the yogic sciences.

I’ve been meditating alot lately. The first time I noticed anything was probably a month ago I didn’t say anything because I had not connected the dots. I was meditating before I went to sleep and I was very tired but wanted to meditate so I kept my eyes open. After a while it felt like the part of me that was tired was resting but another part was wide awake I thought to myself wow maybe people really can fall asleep with there eyes open. A short time after a great feeling came to a small part of my stomach and that was probably the first time something felt different. Any time I have a lucid dream now it’s like that part of me asleep part awake.

As for my head I love music so I got an mp3 player and never looked back after a while I started to think of other uses for it so I decided to learn some japanese. Well I know that you can’t ignore sound so I figured if I left it on I would learn faster because I’ve learned a lot just from watching thousands of hours of subbed anime. So eventually I just left it on and answered the questions it asked me when I could pay enough attention to it. So after hearing video games improve brain function I started playing video games while learning japanese this at first made the middle of my head feel kinda funny I guess. After a while I noticed that if I didn’t pay full attention to either that I would do both moderately well if I wasn’t tired and it felt like I was getting better at doing both things at the same time. Up until this point my meditation was pretty much the same except that one experience prior.

In terms of practice I usually would do sil lum tao from wing chun the 10 taoist exercises sometimes the handful of pau kua I know, alot of brazilian jujitsu drills and some muay thai drills and exercises. I don’t know if this had anything to do with it but at my wing chun school we always practiced left handed first same with the jujitsu alot of stuff I do better lefty although I’m a righty. At this point even my left foot is coordinated.

Meditation well I always meditated to try to heal myself. The feelings I got never changed until the experience I referenced above but I didn’t think anything of it really just my stomach felt better than it had in years. I get this same feeling now when I meditate and I usually end up feeling hungry after. I recently changed my meditation habits by listening to binaural beats while meditating in particular the 528 mhz tone they claim it had healing properties so of course I was interested and my brain loved the beats after that it kind of goes how I said in my 3rd post. It gave my brain the same kind of stimulation or more than the combination of learning japanese while engaging in other acts did now I listen to the beats and it is relaxing but it just feels normal now like my brain has done that before. At first I said it was a controlled state like it goes on and off I’ve not experienced the intense heat or manic or whatever feelings I had before (I haven’t meditated that long to see if I even could) but it just feels like the switch is on. My head feels super clear although it could just be me not smoking and the heat in my stomach feels almost cool but like is free flowing. I didn’t mention this before because none of these things are actual symptoms but they seem important. Also I felt clear headed after about 2 days but was still mixed with some of these other crazy feelings now I feel more stable. Either way thank you guys for even caring. And like you said worse case I learn something about yoga. Everyone has been a big help thank you.

@ndrew

Very easy answer to your question. When doing meditation, If Kundalini has awaken, it will produce heat. After Meditation, drink milk and body will calm down. You can practise meditation everyday without the worry of heat produced in the body.

Personal experience.

Malay.

I would recommend a book called Kundalini Vidya, which can be ordered from Kundalini Care.com The author says that while it’s commonly advised to eat/drink heavy foods to calm symptoms, it’s just a temporary solution and Kundalini Shakti will continue to try to rise.

This is incorrect. The Shakti doesn’t produce heat.
Anyone who can concentrate can produce internal heat.
Production of internal heat doesn’t mean they can ride the lightning (k.shakti)

It is the action of other things that produces the heat.

I remember an older discussion about this. A yoga practitioneer complained about accidental kundalini awakening.

Siddhayoga explained that this might happen after a severe trauma.

Okay… this is based on my own understandings and experiences,

Accidental suggests that it was not predicted. This is fine as long as it’s not premature.

Obviously the chain of cause & effect caould be quite unfathomable especially if we believe in karma and previous lives and al that.

But accidental…ok fine.
Premature… NOT okay.

How do we know if it’s premature?
Likely you’ll probably feel ill… My own was characterised by a fall-out of sorts 4 days later. Now if i had had some guru that told me what had occured which i view it now …then that would have been helpful…and then in an ideal fortunate they know appropriate tools to prescribe for that individual at that given moent. As it is i’ve had to become my own teacher…i guess long-term that is the only way anyway for everyone concerned.

This is informed by my own experience(s) of what i beleive now was a PKA.

If when kundalin is stirring and rising or moving a good bit of adivce is also try and avoid certainly intoxicants, i.e ddrugs of any kind and a moderatediet should be also helpful and sensible.

You can go completely nuts and end up quite ill or sick as i i’ve found out if you don’t know what you’re doing, unlucky, don’t self-pace or don’t respect this potential enrgy force. It is like a roman-candle that can go off prematurely especially if we force before sufficient and adequate balanced purification has occured already in the subtle nervous system comprising the nadis, sushumna, chakras etc. The result after the fall-out if there is one can be a disoriented nervous system and it can take time and knowledge and training to learn what’s going on and remedy it.

I would imagine an accidental K awakening could be a difficult experience for the individual who had no prior intentions for awakening or knowledge of the word even.

My humble request is do meditation and kundalini things only by the guidance of qualified guru. If you are adventurous then go ahead. Approaching the meditation technics with a calmless mind is sometimes dangerous. First of all make your mind cool and calm. For this you have to learn how to control mind. To control mind you have to know how to stop thoughts. To stop thoughts you have to drop the ‘I thought’ or Ego. To drop the ego you have to correct your actions (good karma). It is a serial and gradual process. After attaining all prerequisites you can go for technics like controlling breath (pranayama), meditation and kundalini raising.

In my personal opinion when we progress in our awareness or in our conscious level the kundalini should raise of its own. Be in a higher state of mind and the conscious level will increase automatically. Instead if we use any Yoga techinics or drug technics ,it will be a false path to higher state of consciousness or kundalini awakening. These things are actually a playing with mind. Be very very precautions.

When you do meditation in a deeper level without preparation of mind can lead to insanity. It may give some unexpected experiences. Do stop things and approach a guide.
Hello I’ve never posted here before I’ve never done yoga I apologize in advance if I posted in the wrong section and if so please point me in the right direction. I’ve always meditated and done martial arts but I’ve done more meditating lately and today a switched just flipped and my whole body has been on fire for about 2hrs I’ve calmed down and feel pretty normal. This seems to be a controlled state I can go into and out of and raise and lower energy levels. everything is really loud anyway and some things smell really bad but thats about it. My question is

a. is this real has anyone experienced this

b. what do I do now what do I read how to proceed really.

I’m really serious does anyone know of this does this happen to people. I really would appreciate any help anyone could give. I understand it’s late. I have no instructor or even any of the martial artist I train with that do yoga around. I live in the woods and there is no one here now and I am super confused. Again thank you.
Probably just the increased senses that occour after a powerful but relaed workout. I tend to feel my vital energy after one of those.

do this by the direction of a guru, right guru

It is tremendously difficult to assess such a situation simply based upon your words, and if one wants to have greater clarity into the situation - one will either have to inquire into the matter deeply by oneself, or come into the presence of a master of the tantric sciences. If you are to inquire into the matter by oneself, then one will require a scientific approach - if one has a hypothesis - one will have to enter into the laboratory, experiment, verify one’s findings through trial and error, and repeating it again and again unless one comes closer and closer to the reality. This will require tremendous doubt, skepticism - and yet balanced with a certain receptivity. And such are very rare qualities, that is why it has always been the case that it is very rare that any human being comes to their awakening without the help of a master or a guru to guide them through the process. One thing that should be understood is that, when it comes to the energies of the subtle body, there are so many different changes that can happen to the energies of the body that it is very likely that many of them may be misinterpreted as kundalini. Most of what people misunderstand as kundalini is not a kundalini awakening, but something else which has been called pranothanna. When your life energies enter into a heightened state of activity, you may experience various different things - ripples of heat, currents of vibration traveling in certain areas of the body which are similar to electrical currents, certain painful sensations in some parts of the body due to intense pressure of energy - and such things. These experiences are very different than kundalini awakening, which has to do with two specific life energies, prana and apana, which are forced into the sushumna and awakens the kanda, whereby kundalini starts ascending the spinal cord. So if one is practicing certain methods to awaken the kundalini, much of this has to do with purification of the energies of the subtle body, and without such a purification - one still may awaken kundalini, but it is as rare as one can imagine. Ordinarily, even for those who are practicing methods for the awakening kundalini, a small number of them manage to become successful, it usually requires tremendous effort and discipline.

That right. you must have “right guru” to teach you about yoga. You can refer this forum to learn more about yoga.
