Hello, friends, hello, all!
Happy new year. : ) I hope your 2011 is off to a glorious start.
I’ve been practicing yoga regularly for only a few months now (though I’d had experience with it before, for years - just didn’t have a regular practice), but I’m already so enamored with it that I couldn’t resist joining a community of like-mined people …
I came here sort of seeking answers, or perhaps just looking for people who could understand how I feel about learning about my path, trusting in the journey, and utilizing yoga to still the mind just as much as strengthen the body. Yoga has been an incredible practice for my mind, which can often be very loud, very cluttered, and not always the most positive place. Through regular practice, as well as meditation and mindfulness, I have found that I actually CAN change my mindset - something I never thought I could do a few years ago!
Of course, it’s still a journey, and I’ve quite a ways to go yet. Oh, but I’ve already come so far and made such progress – I too often forget that (I think we all do) !
Has anyone been in similar shoes, or followed a similar path? What are your experiences with utilizing yoga to find inner peace and quiet?
