Another wheel question

I’m new and doing yoga in a heated (98.6*) room and we do wheel at the end of our practice and I should be plenty warmed up -but half the time I do wheel when my head makes contact with my knee as I start to straighten the second muscle of my right abdominals gets a miserable spasm and I have to stop.

I’m pretty well hydrated, I don’t do supplements but my homemade electrolyte solution of black strap molasses, apple cider vinegar and baking soda should meet those needs. Along with some coconut water I drink -not too often it is $$.

Thoughts?

Deed,
You don’t mention your diet or nutrition habits other than the homemade electrolyte solution. I might suggest that perhaps you could be low on some nutrients, and not being well versed in them, I know that when I have muscle spasms or cramps I generally am low on any or all of the following: Potassium, calcium, magnesium, vitamin D and perhaps others. Just a thought. Could be other things going on too.

Thanks -good point. I eat a lot of whole grains and lean meats and fruits -I’m sort of light on veggies these days. I am typically low on D, but haven’t found a great way to address that. Now that it is sunny again maybe that will help.

You’re referencing this pose?

I’m not understanding your post. Specifically your mention of your head touching your knees and your second abdominal muscle.
Might you expound on these please.

No not that pose. Sorry actually I meant rabbit-I always feel more like a wheel though so I mix up the name -my apologies.
