Any yoga poses for hemorrhoids

Hi everyone,

I have been suffering from hemorrhoids for the last couple of years.
It is intermittent and is tolerably painful. It seems to go away completely for sometime, but eating spicy foods seem to cause it to reappear.
very frustrating and dampener to my practice. I was wondering if
there are any poses specifically targetted that can alleviate as well as heal them?

Thanks for any suggestions and any experience with handling them.

Regards

There is a specific acupuncture point for hemorrhoids. It is located on the top of head. The name of the point is Baihui.Below is the link with exact location:

It is enough if you massage gently the point 2-3 times a day,for about 2-3 minutes. One important remark:go with your finger around Baihui till you find the most sensitive point. In your case it is probably painful.Do not worry, you just found the right spot.Massage it as I say, never using finger nail, just the flesh of the finger. You should be free of any discomfort in about a month.
Another important thing:when you must go to empty the bowels, try to walk a minute or so to relax and make blood circulate in gluteus area.Drink plenty of water. It is needed about one glass of water every hour.
The best way to find out do you need water in the body is the color of your urine. If the color is darker then water, then you need to drink more water.

Change your diet to soften the stool.
Do not strain at the stool.
Acquire a wooden squatty potty.
Increase your consumption of magnesium and vitamin c.

Obviously hemorrhoids is inflammation so following a standard protocol for reducing inflammation is appropriate. Your current teacher should be guiding you in this regard.

Asana is not prescription medicine and shouldn’t be used as such. It lends itself to the idea that posture is enough and in fact posture is no more than 1/3 of a full protocol, if that. However you can experiment and see how baddha konasana, setu bandha, sirasana, sarvangasana, savasana and some gentle pranayama may serve you.

Keep us posted on your progress.

When I was in my early 20’s I would occasionally suffer from the pain in the assana.
I switched over to wet wipes instead of dry toilet paper, specifically MEDICATED witch hazel wipes.
Haven’t had a reoccurrence in decades…

Two things here. First root cause of issue and other one is fix of the issue. If you have already known that spicy diet is making it worst then you should stop it.

In seeking yoga or other help, it is always good to target root cause along with fixing current problem. Here are few tips.

Root cause fix :
Strict diet changes are required towards light food and moderation of food.
Drink enough water.

Tips to fix current issue
If it is not severe then try taking enema
Sarwangasana and inverted postures are good.
Also try ashwini mudra.
