Namaste; Like most fellow yoga practitioners I began my journey after a difficult time in my life. I have truly enjoyed what yoga has brought into my life. My next challenge is to attend a yoga holiday or retreat. I have practiced for about 9 months and will be traveling solo. Is it to soon, as I have not perfected all the asana’s? I am practicing short form Ashtanga but I am having a difficult time finding a Ashtanga retreat or holiday location. I am looking for a 4 - 5 day trip preferably US, Mexico or Costa Rica. Any suggestions. I would like to study yoga philosophy, meditation and asana’s. Any suggestions?
There is a Yoga community that is outside of Boulder that is in a lovely setting, especially this time of year: Shoshoni yoga retreat and residential ashram I attended a short overnight retreat there when I was in college and I enjoyed it. It is not based in Jois’ Ashtanga, but more complete and classical than much of the Ashtanga that is presented here in the States. Perhaps you will get a good feel of it from their website.
Kind regards,
Richard Freeman, a noted ashtangi is in Boulder. you can view his website here: Yoga Workshop
have you considered going to Mysore, India to deepen your ashtanga practice? this is a lot further than the destinations you mentioned, but it could proove to be a profound experience.
you may also find retreats listed here: AshtangaNews Workshops & Retreats - Ashtanga Yoga Matters (as taught by Sri K Pattabhi Jois)
and here Ashtanga Yoga Workshops
or perhaps find a teacher you think you’d enjoy studying wiht and contact them to ask if you can have your own retreat centered around their facility.
i hope that helps.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will check them out
