"In the physical world,
every up has a down.
That is why you look
for inner peace,
for spirituality,
for freedom.
So you had much bliss
in a sunny day full of love.
Now it’s cold and raining
and lonely.
If you have attachment to it,
there will be a roller coaster ride
from heaven to hell and back.
It is on the roller coaster ride
where you have
a great opportunity to be present.
To see one day it is this,
another that,
and the real truth is
behind all of this,
that there is no ride,
that you are always still,
even while riding the roller coaster.
That whether you are in love
or have a broken heart,
whether you just won the lotto
or lost the plot,
stillness is always here,
as presence.
You are always presence,
always will be presence,
always have been presence.
Then on the outside there maybe pain,
but in the surrender to pain,
there is peace and in the peace,
you transcend the pain,
your transcend everything.
You are in it
and free from it
at the same time.
And then you see
it is in you.
It rises from you
and disappears in you.
That it is all love.
The pain is love.
The bliss is love.
It is all beautiful.
Riding the roller coaster.
Up down, up down.
You bought the ticket,
with your desire for something
now you are riding the ride.
Just let it be.
It will pass,
there will be peace again
and then one day,
you will be walking in the field
and notice the fair has come to town
and you will think
"Perhaps I should buy
a ticket for the roller coaster.
It was fun wasn’t it?
It wasn’t too scary, was it?"
Or perhaps you will find
sitting in the field is enough,
watching everyone
else screaming on the roller coaster.
Does not matter either way.
What matters is presence.
If there is presence,
then you are content in presence,
in the field or on the roller coaster.
