I have been doing yoga on and off since 1998. Friends noticed soon after I began that something was different about me. My time of greatest commitment to yoga was while going thru infertility treatment. I did not miss a single day for 4 months until I was told not to do any physical activity after undergoing in vitro fertilization, which resulted in a baby boy born fall '07! I thank yoga for helping me to achieve a state that allowed me to conceive and carry my son. However, Life with a baby, some muskuloskeletal issues(now resolved) and working full time was so hectic . … I did not begin yoga again once the doctor said it was OK. I also came down with a chronic medical condition during pregnancy that has continued. It became clear to me earlier this year that I must renew my commitment and rededicate myself to yoga if I am to be my healthiest in body and mind.
Some coworkers and I have started a yoga class at work - a wonderful instructor meets us each week in the conference room! Someday I might like to learn to be an instructor, I think. I think that my life must take the direction of yoga to be my best self.
Sometimes I get my son to do some downward dog and forward folds with me! He doesn’t know what he is doing but he knows it makes me smile!
