does anyone know the best postures for balancing sugar levels? I already know virasana as a good one and supta baddha konasana. Any more? Thanks Jo
I wrote a yoga research paper on yoga and diabetes which you might be able to obtain from IYTA New Zealand. It looks at all aspects of yoga and how it can help with diabetes. The paper is not specifically about postures but does include information regarding beneficial postures.
Thankyou, I’ll try to find your article.
Is that a website? I can’t find it
The website is IYTA(NZ) - YOGA AOTEAROA . If you don’t have any luck, send me your Email address and I will E-mail a PDF of the file to you.

you find something about the plough pose on:
The Plough / Bindu 5 / Issues of Bindu / Articles - Scandinavian Yoga and Meditation School
“… A 35-year old man from Oslo suffering from diabetes, discovered to his great surprise that, by staying in the Plough some minutes every day, he was able to regulate his blood sugar. …”
Thanks Karin, Looks like a great centre with lots of information.

I can recommend the magazine “Bindu” (in which the article is) and also the book of Janakananda and you can learn a lot of very deep yoga techniques in the ashram, but it is very hierarchical, strict and forceful, especially regarding the 3-month course and of course even more if you live there; people get forced to surrender - some like it, some not.
