- The bandhas are commonly explained in yoga books in the context of Pranayama and sitting, or special standing postures, but often referred to in yoga classes as an aspect of asana and vinyasa practice: What exactly is the relationship of bandhas to asanas?
- Should Mula and Uddhiyana Bandhas be active (or at least, can safely, and advisably be engaged) in all poses except Shavasana?
- In some books, they have photos, and indeed recommend Jalandhara banda for some poses, but not explicitly for all poses. Is Jalandhara Bandha also applicable to all postures, or which postures is it applicable for, which not? (maybe, some principals, such as a relationship to drsti, would be better than a list here.)
- Have you any recommended sources? (Books, or other media - such as video, voice recording, interviews etc.).

Thank you!
I’ve read the article before, but on reading it more thoroughly, I found that indeed it answers some of my questions, but still leaves me wondering about Jalandhara Bandha:
Questions 1 and 2 are answered in the article:
"Mula Bandha is linked to exhalation, Uddiyana Bandha to inhalation. Both bandhas remain continuously activated throughout the whole practice.
But 3 is not completely answered:
While the following quote from the section about Jalandhara Bandha suggests that perhaps it can be activated even in counter intuitive poses, however it doesn’t really close the deal by explaining anything more.
The chin is not lowered in all positions. Nevertheless the energetic quality of Jalandhara Bandha persists.
Thanks again for the suggestion! I suppose it wouldn’t happen to contact them and ask
