So Peter you have no yoga experience is that what you mean?
It’s okay. Perfectly fine.
Many, many people slouch, in yoga class as well. Sitting is very difficult for westerners. This as a result of deep attachment to things like chairs which are not at all good for the muscles supporting lower back health.
But it’s important for me to be able to SEE a student to assess an actual state of being rather than taking it on verbal cues. The reason for this is there is simply more to observe before tossing out suggestions like a frisbee to a whippet.
There are, of course, things within yoga practice to assist in rectifying this sort of thing you mention (again, depending on exactly where this slouch originates and what is its musculoskeletal cause).
Muscles work either with each other or against each other. To detail what YOU specifically would need requires knowledge of which muscles are overworking and which are lagging on the job.
I am sorry to not be more helpful my friend.
Please consider some classes with a well trained teacher. Fundamentals WILL help.
Thank you, This fall i will start a beginner class.
