Bhakti Yoga, The Way Of Choiceless Surrender
A good way to start is -
- to convince yourself that there are no spiritual ‘heavyweights’ here; even if they are and dish out complex messages, nobody’s wisdom helps nobody else. In Yoga all wisdom is self-earned through own sweat and blood,
- to be ready to change. We are the biggest hurdle in our Yoga path, when we refuse to change. Old thinking patterns die hard, but they do die.
- to be ready to face oneself. It is important to offer one’s own mind, thoughts, behavior for self-scrutiny. Realise as early as possible that pardoning oneself, as we often do quite generously, doesn’t help.
- to know that Yoga is all about “unlearning”. The way to go is to avoid stepping into the emtional debris and sort out your current thinking. Then, it is easy to recognize what needs “undoing or reversing”.
- to figure out if you are here for short-term or long. If short, enjoy asanas and don’t worry about anything else. If long enough, when you read, hear and absorb Yoga, the philosophy, make it part of YOUR life.
It is a long, hard way; but beautiful!

Un-program the mind and reality will appear.
