Bikram Yoga Breath

Anyone know the name is the type of breath that is done in the beginning of the Bikram class?

Thanks a lot!

Victorious ( Ujjayi ) breath or the Shining Skull breath (Kapalabhati)???

No, thats the one with interlaced fingers lock on the chin and elbows up on the inhale, on the exhale - back-bend and elbows together…

well, it engages udiana, and jalandhara locks I think…

here is the picture

Pranayama.

Ok, what kind of pranayana is it? What is the name if any for this kind of pranayama?

CityMonk, I have his book, Bikram’s Beginning Yoga Class, and he only refers to it as “Standing Deep Breathing” and he only writes “breathe with the throat,” inhaling through the nose and exhaling through a slightly opened mouth.

Each movement is held for a long count of 6.

He doesn’t mention any bandhas.

The picture you posted is the exhale when you drop your head back and bring you arms, wrists, and elbows together in front. On the inhale, you raise your elbows up with the goal of touching your ears with your forearms while lifting your head to look forward again. At all times your knuckles remain against the chin.

Hope that helps.
