let me take the opportunity of this first post to say hello to eveyone here.
perhaps someone might be able to help me out with my quest.
i’m preparing for my first trip to India where i will be spending the winter studying various aspects of yoga in a diverse range of schools. in January i plan to be in Mysore for a little over a month and would like to study with BNS Iyengar.
i recently heard that he no longer teaches at the Patanjala yogashala but have been unable to locate where he now teaches.
if you have any information as to where i will be able to find him i would be eternally greatfull.

Welcome tot he Forum and I am sure somebody might be able to help you with an answer.
I did a quick Google search and it seems according to all the sites and even BNS’s official website that he still teaches at the Yogashala in Mysore. However, why don’t you contact them directly via email here and ask them directly, that way you will get the most recent answer.
Sounds like you are going to have a busy time in India, good luck and enjoy the journey.

thank you for your welcome to the forum.
BNS Iyengar’s website patanjalayogashala.org is no longer operational. the Mysore Mandala is another school, not the one where he is actually based. he does teach there but only some pranayama classes on occasion.
i have contacted them and have yet to recieve a clear reply which indicates that he does not really teach there any more.
if i’m meant to study with him however, i’m sure i will find him in due time. it is sometimes of more worth when your goal is not handed to you on a silver platter…

I see now. I am glad to hear that you have such an open approach to this training. I strongly belief that if something is meant to happen then the right info or person or something will cross your path to allow it to happen.

it is exactly as you say it, we could not agree more. a very kind and generous soul actually has already crossed my path ! just met him on this forum and Mukunda has pm me some great info regarding finding BNS Iyengar.
