xela, do you use the User note function where you have moderated before? I think it would be helpful if we used it with these kinds of things and just made a note about what we did and why in there.
Edit: I just took a scan through his other posts and they are basically all to flog his business. Andy, I’d like your opinion here if you could. Is this the kind of person you want to tag as a vendor or is he just spam. IMO, this is just spam, but I’m not too clear on the vendor piece yet.
I never used the user notes before…Can members see them or only mod/admins?

I think this post should stand. Even though it is kind of spammy, this member has posted many similar posts and they are often very informative. Since we are so low volume, I think it might turn people away if we are to heavy handed right now.

Let’s see what Alix thinks. My biggest concern/comment is that we will be so tough that even people who could be great contributors could be muzzled. It’s a difficult balancing act to allow professionals who want to promote their livelihoods but are experts in the topic.
In this case, he posts quite a bit of info, so I think it could be valuable for our members who run studios and his services are probably pretty smart as many people who start studios might not be the best at business but love yoga.
Well I stand firmly in the “this is SPAM” camp. You guys feel free to do whatever you wish, but when I saw this I just rolled my eyes and didn’t even read it all.
My feeling is that a post this long is not going to have many readers #1, and #2, there is a pretty limited target audience for this. I don’t think this is why people come to this site, and I don’t think it adds anything at all.
I don’t feel it was heavy handed to remove it. However, I will go with whatever you two feel is best.
Like I said, I can’t stand spam either, but I don’t really have a problem putting it back. I’m leaving it up to the boss! lol
