The question of breath training will be coming up a lot for me, I am sure. But here goes. I see and have experienced the value of the abdominal breath. However, I do not see its logic in moving Asana. i.e. If the breath descends from top to bottom on inhale, and energy rises on exhale, this is counter to movement such as: inhale to Tadasana (arms up) (energy rising), exhale to uttanasana (energy descending), and so forth per the breath and movements during Surya Namaskar. This confuses me in the direction the energy and/or visualization should be taking.
Energy pattern is not as distinct as this – it is more complex prana when healthy moves in this manner – does down on inhale (Adya prana), during pause it stays in belly (Samana prana), during exhale first motion is upward (udana prana) last part of exhale is energy release in hips (apana prana), pause is energy expanding in all directions (Vyana prana).
