I recently broke my foot in three different places. While this has been extremely painful and inconvenient, it has also given me some much needed time off of work. With this new found time off of work I have been able to really sit down and have some great introspective meditation/yoga sessions that have helped me figure out quite a few things. While I don’t advise breaking your foot to do so, I’d recommend everyone here try to take some time off from the stresses of work and everyday life to slow things down and re-center themselves. I know most people could use it.
In the yogic context, things that occur in the physical body are merely manifestations, expressions, or results from some other issue we’re facing on a non-physical level. The beckoning from those other levels tends to whisper for our attention and, after being ignored over time, intensifies its volume until it is attended to (heard). In some cases the whisper becomes a roar and knocks us on the back of our front.
Interesting… I had not thought an injury in that way.
In my case then it was a torn meniscus which after much time to think brought me back to Yoga after years away.
