Can and cant

pondering this a bit today. how strong is our can, how strong is our cant and does it really matter matter? say we want peace within, there may be a part of us that believes it can happen and a part that believes it cant. also, which is stronger? which do we give more credit to? the possibilites in life are the possibilites, whether or not we believe them. so how strong we believe , does it matter, because what is possiblie is possible?.

take eckhart tolle and byron katie for example. Both were in deep states of depression, doing no practices, and their transformation occured. Now please dont get me wrong, i am not saying give up yoga practies. So in their deep state of depression, how strong where their beliefs of overcoming it, if im not mistaken katie was in the bed for a couple years.

maybe for some of us knowing that the amount of our conviction may not, matter might be liberating as possibilities are possibilities. it may take a bit of pressure off and then we open up to the possibilities.

When we practice balancing poses in the class, new people straggling, and I always telling my students a story:

Imagine the path…two feet width. Can you walk straight and not step out of edge? Of course everyone can do it!! But imagine the same path, two feet width, BUT now this path is 20 feet above the ground…same with, sale law of gravity…Ops… not everyone will be dare to step on it!

This is paradox…of can and can not

yeah it is interesting what happens once off the ground, when i used to walk on raised surfaces i made sure to keep my head up as once i looked down there went the balance.
