Can I train in India to teach in America?

I might want to do that so I want to know.

That’s a good question. Many teachers I know have studied in India, including a couple at my studio. They certainly teach here.

Are you asking if the certification is transferable or recognized by institutions like Yoga Alliance?

Why are you thinking of teacher training when you have not even started to practice yoga?

Practice for a few years first then consider a teacher training.

I am only asking because I want to be a physical therapist.

Obvious point to consider is WHY train in India???
Because Yoga comes from India is not a good enough reason.

Training in India can be great & a worthwhile experience but you need to ask why go there, when there are many Teacher Trainings available in your own country. I do martial arts for e.g. the vast majority of people I know have not gone to another country to become an Instructor e.g. if you do Tae Kwon Do bother going to Korea, etc. Same with Yoga I’ve met some that have gone to India to do TT but most do it closer by in their own country then some of them after becoming teachers might go to India just for the experience.

You should look into TT courses in your own country, and also TT courses in India, then decide which is best for you. One advantage of doing it in your own country is easier to go train with them first and see what they are like as teachers before undertaking TT with them.

the practice of yoga can be begin with teacher training in which a participant know basics of yoga and its techniques. To be a teacher any one needs to be experienced. in our view begin with proper training with a guru.

thanks
