Chakras and Kundalini

Are these concepts religious?

Are they science? If so, can they be proven?

I must admit, what I have read about it seems way “out there,” but I’m trying to keep an open mind about it.

At this time I have no interest in awakening any serpent in my sacrum, or wherever it’s supposed to be. It seems very creepy.

It depends how you define science. If you mean are they empirical facts that we can measure, then no. We can only infer their existence. However, atoms are not empirical facts either, and we can only infer their existence.

Chakras are inferred from Vedic philosophy which says that it is necessarily the case that prior to any physical manifestation, there is a mental manifestation which is governed by an intelligence. This intelligence regulates and controls the physical. In the body there are various organs which regulate and control the body and secret hormones and their position in the body corresponds to where the chakras are said to be situated and their functions are similar to the functions the chakras control. So there is some indirect evidence for their existence.

Kundalini is once again inferred from Vedic philosophy as an infinite cosmic energy from which all energy comes from and it exists in every point in space. Kundalini i.e., cosmic energy existing at every point in space is more or less proven in physics today. It goes under the name of zero point energy field or quantum vacuum.

Can the chakras be proven? They can be proven to you. Meaning. You can discover them yourself . . . thus they will be proven to you.

Can science prove them? I dunno. They are subtle i.e beyond the material senses. So I doubt it.

As far as your Cathelosicm the Chakras, or rather the Catheolic versions are all over the Churches in Art. Flowers.
Look at the stained glass . . . Rose window. Embelsiments on the famous churches. This stuff is all over for a reason . . . so yes religious if you wish . . . I prefer the term “spiritual”

Out there?
thomas you should look at the scriptures with the eyes of a clever poet.
The big Mistake is being so literal when literal doesn’t make sense.
Look for the symbols that repeat through the scriptures (no matter what the relgious system). Whether in the Art, or within the scriptures.

Learn as much as you can - or want to about the yoga. Devour it. Then go back to your book. Maybe you’ll see things in your book in a new light.

The “serpent” is symbolic. Represenative of an energy . . .

Living water is Kundalini.
