Correcting Supination

Hello All,

Your advise on the following will be Appreciated:

I am told that certain lower back problems that I have are also related to the fact that I stand putting my weight on the outer edges of your feet, lifting the arches and the base of the big toe (Supination or Underpronation )

Are there Yoga exercises that can Effectively correct this ?

Thanks in advance.

Namaste.

VS1,

Yes. All of them. But none of them more than awareness. Along with a regular yoga practice, develop an awareness of how you stand and walk.

Try walking with your feet more parallel. Practice standing on your heels while squeezing the quadriceps and straightening the knees. Drive your weight down through the heels and lift your toes (inhale through the nose as you do). Feel how your center of balance changes. Keep going there. Do this on one leg and two, while standing in line at the grocery, while you’re on the phone, or waiting for the bus on your way to your yoga lesson.

peace,
siva

I’ll word this as carefully as I can.

There are some physical things (asana/postures) that, when instructed and subsequently done with proper action(s), can assist in correcting posture such that back issues subside.

Thank you Siva.

InnerAthlete, Is it possible that you elaborate ?

As evidenced from my litany of postings, yes it is very possible for me to elaborate ad nauseam.

Specific questions would be easier to answer and take up far less board space.

One what and in what way(s) would you like elaboration?

if you could post images and explanations of specific postures that can fix this supination, that could be helpful.

Thanks!

Unfortunately that is not something I can do.
Therapeutic issues mandate protocols specifically designed to the person experiencing them and vary from one human being to the next. As such, a protocol like that warrants that the teacher and student have contact rather than an internet connection.

I understand.
Good will is Appreciated.
