Hi everybody!
About designing your own practice room…I suppose it depends a bit on how you feel most comfortable. I think it is not about what is in the room, or if the floor is carpeted or not, if you put the incense and stuff like that. It might help, but I think the most important thing is to keep that room for what it is: yoga practice. My room is completely empty, the only thing I have in there is the yoga mat. I do not ever put anything else in there, even if sometimes I have stuff that, well…does not seem to belong anywhere…
I think that the feeling of space is very important, and also the air should not be “stuffy”. The room should not be “crowded”. I like the smell of incense or scented oils when I practice, but in my room it proved unnecesary. So, if you like the carpeted floor better, go ahead. if you prefer the feeling of wood under your feet, go for it. Everything that helps your practice would be fine.
Warm regards…
