Did you have anatomy at the hight school?

Last class I called some…mm…muscle …I think quadriceps. One girl said: where is it?

I pointed to her lap, and asked : did you have an anatomy at the school?
She said: NO…

I exclaimed : not at all???

She said: like few chapters…

Today i asked another friend, and he confirmed that there is no anatomy at the school unless you take it as an elective.

Is this a case everywhere or just here in Florida?

we all had 3 YEARS of anatomy at the regular school, including dna, cells structure, structure of all organs, tissues, systems etc. And it was mandatory!

Actually we all have some anatomy in high school. In my experience (many years ago) in California then Oklahoma, anatomy was covered in general science class. It wasn’t in depth, and if we learned muscles it was only the major muscle groups. I think American kids are lazy and don’t care if they remember these things, as they don’t feel it’s important if they aren’t interested. It says some sad things about our educational system. I admit, I was one that didn’t pay that much attention.

I had two years of biology is high school in North Carolina covering dna and cell structure, but I was not taught the names of specific muscles. It may have been covered in PE. I don’t recall there being a specific Anatomy class in high school.

I had a High School Biology class that covered Anatomy and Physiology and Genes and of course frog and worm dissections and the cows eye and sheep?s heart… ok I think I have made enough people queasy for one day I will go now
