Digestive Issue: Hemorrhoids

Hi and Namaste,

I’m having a pretty bad dose of hemorrhoids for over a week now, since a recent road trip. My new job has me standing for long periods, so I’m having to move slowly and breathe a lot and slow myself down in order to lessen the aggravation. It’s making hatha yoga and mula bandha difficult, I’ve pretty much stopped mula bandha in my practice now and instead focus on tucking the tummy on the end of the exhale…

I found a post that recommends epsom salts, and avoid chocolate/ sugar and to increase fiber om the diet. Also recommended belly pumping and increase pranayama. Maybe that’s exactly what I need…?

I just spent some time deep breathing and standing in the tree pose for a while which seemed to help, followed by some deep breathing in padmasana.

Anyway, appreciate any advice. Perhaps my diet needs to change radically for a few days or I should fast?

Well, I’m happy to say it’s subsiding a little. My hatha yoga poses mainly such as the pigeon, the tree, and inversions helped a little. And it also seems like deep breathing along with making good decisions in daily life have improved the situation. Ice and prep H, vaseline etc… Duke of Argyll’s are deflating…

Lastly, did you hear about the constipated mathematician that lost his calculator?..he worked it out with a pencil. :lol:

Drink Apple juice everyday, it’s marvellous…and/or take organic cider vinegar everyday…x

Always use a lot of water when go to toilet and develop qualities of Mooladhara chakra.

Add fresh root ginger to Apple juice…all round good for digestion and bowels…
