Downloading Yoga Videos online

Hello everyone my name is Nicole. I am new to yoga. I have been practicing for 3 months now and I love how I feel because of it. Due to my occupation in Business Admin., I don’t have much time to practice during normal hours. I have been browsing the web for a while and came across an interesting site that offers Yoga Online Videos They have a free sample that I have watched and liked, but I and was wondering if anyone has heard of getting downloadable courses of the net for yoga practice and if this is good way to practice? Before I purchase their videos ( I think they have 4 courses each an hour long ) I wanted some other yoga practioners’ feedback. Please let me know what you think.

Best Wishes for the Holidays
Nicole

Hi Nicole and welcome to yogaforums.com!

I have been practicing Hatha Yoga for 20 years now and have just recently foined this forum. I stumbled across your post on downloadable videos and checked out the site you refferred. The free sample video was really good, and there is no doubt that Lyn Thomas the instructor has sufficient experience. I have seen her videos before and she has been teaching for over 40 years. To answer your question, I don’t think that its wrong to practice yoga through videos on the net. It is basically the same as popping in a workout session cd into your dvd platyer at home. As long as you are being stimulated and are learning and enjoying it I think it is fine. Of course I would have to advise that Learning first hand from an experienced indivdual is the best way to improve your overall well being.
I am interested in these videos as I practice Hatha Yoga and fave not seen this stuff from Lyn Thomas. I am thinking about buying the videos as well. If I do ( or if you do for that matter ) we’ll be sure to spred the word to each other. I am interested in her advanced course, (17 dollars is not a bad price…) if you have not seen this page, it explains more about her history as a teacher: http://www.appliedzen.com/index.asp?Sec_ID=173
Good luck with all your endeavours and have a Merry Christmas! I’ll keep you updated on more sites that do this as well.

Regards
Arianne

Hello,

I recently launched my own web site of yoga classes at http://www.yogaanywhere.com. I am a certified yoga teacher (through Yoga Alliance) and was Assistant Director for a Yoga teacher training program. There is a free demo that you can check out as well. Let me know what you think! My goal was to provide diverse yoga classes for anyone who can’t get out to classes due to location, time constraints, etc.

Jai!

They are really great! I have been using them for a month now. It’s so cool cuz I can be at work and take a half hour break and do yoga via my laptop.
