Embarrasing, yet situationally funny, question

i am in my first ever yoga class and i found that i have vagina farts when coming down from inversions. is there something i can do to stop this disruptive embarrasing occurance?

Experiment with muscle contraction and relaxation in the area. You may notice as you come down that, say, your abdominal and muscles around the top/middle of the vagina are contracted, while your vaginal opening is relaxed and open. Try to “seal” your vaginal opening as you come down or, alternatively, try to relax the muscles clenching the vagina higher up.

Eventually it all works out.

Massaging the abdomen in a circular manner with a bit of pressure before class helps to move the ‘wind’ of the vagina and/or colon. The circles should cover the entire abdomen from the ribcage to the groin to be effective. In this way, the ‘winds’ can be released with greater quietness and control. Additionally, when performing any asanas where this has been a problem, try contracting the muscles between the vagina and the rectum, i.e. the anal sphincter muscles. These are the muscles one uses to hold in a fart or a bowel movement that feels ready to release. This means you’ll sometimes have to be a bit of a ‘tight ass’ in class…but, oh well, it’ll be worth it to avoid further embarrassment, right? It would also probably help matters considerably if you don’t have sex right before going to your class! lol Hari Om! Adityananda
