I have a question and I’m very sorry to bring you back to a painful
remembering, that is your girl-friend who had epilepsy and who got to be
operated on with a frontal region removed. A friend of a student of mine
would like to start to come to yoga-class and she has epilepsy and she has
been operated. I don’t know how to deal with a person with this condition
and I don’t know if it is good for her to practice yoga in a class. It would
be very helpful if you could give me some suggestions / advices.
As for epilepsy student best is to treat them as normal student.
Especially encouraging watchfulness/mindfulness or vipassana meditation and
breath awareness, not pranayama. All normal asana practices should be fine
just not holding poses too long which is not for Vata predominant situations
such as epilepsy.
