Feeling gratitude

One year ago today I had an accident and broke my leg. I was unable to work for 12 weeks. I am now the proud owner of a titanium rod and 4 screws. My journey was long and painful but now I feel 100% recovered. I have a five inch scar from from the surgical incision and when the weather changes it occasionaly aches, but other than that Im good. You would never know I was broken by the way I walk.

Im happy to be where I am today, also Im very thankful for yoga and this forum. Had I not broken my leg who knows maybe I wouldnt have found my passion. Everyone here is supportive and caring and that means a lot.

Namaste

Thank you for sharing this kyogagirl64. What a wonderful way to look at a life changing event like the one you’ve gone through. Many roads lead to yoga. Glad you’re here.

Maybe we can start a “metal club!” I have a titanium plate and 8 screws in my foot/toe. Took me a while as well, and like you at about 100% now.

Continued healing on your journey.

It has taken a long time for me to feel gratitude for surviving the acquired brain injury and how I mark time since that event. I have been very preoccupied with my new mental and physical limits. Throw in a touch of Narcissism- an awareness practice like Hatha yoga really has paid off. I am slowly collecting my scattered mind together and accepting reality.

I am grateful for the life our wealthy culture provides for us - and sorry that it is not more equitable for other people all over the world.

I am grateful that I’ve been spending more time on the yoga forum and not constantly considering the aforementioned inequities that Amnesty International led me to brood over!
