Finding if a fitness center has yoga props

I seach a nunber of fitness clubs and found they either have a yoga class or not. The thing is they don’t tell what items are suppied. Is the answer to just join a yoga club or studio?

It would seem a visit or telephone call would be appropriate if this information is critical to your joining.

yes, I agree. I was just curious right now since I am moving to maui. Then the only way to find out is to go into the club and start asking questions.

In my experience with clubs/gyms is that some have very strong yoga programs with lots of props and some simply have nothing but mats. If I were you, I would call and ask ahead of time. You can also ask to speak directly to the fitness director who manages the yoga classes.
I find I like the best of both worlds. I generally teach or belong to one nice healthclub and then visit a great yoga studio(usually Iyengar) 2 times a week. Yoga studios generally have the best workshops where you will learn the most!!

well when I get set in Maui I am going to do that reseach. Does it cost more to join a yoga studio or a normal gym like gold’s/ La fitness?

It depends on how much yoga you want and what the yoga studio charges. Generally, you will pay more to attend a yoga studio on a regular basis than a health club like 24hr/golds. Yoga classes run between $12-15 per class but you can buy packages of classes where the cost per class drops. Some studios offer a monthly fee for unlimited classes but it’s generally quite expensive.

Even if you bought a yearly unlimited at a studio the chances are a mega gym would be 50% less. I think you can get a gym membership for like $30 a month. Paid upfront a yoga studio membership might average out to $80 a month.

However, the product at a yoga studio, in terms of yoga, is worth the extra monthly. After all, they’re paying professionals and maintaining a certain sort of environment condusive to your practice.

okay, I get it just get a gym membership where yoga class are part of the membership price. Also provide yoga blocks, hard mat.

No actually I was thinking just the opposite. Forget the gym membership and dedicate the proper dough to a yoga practice.

It’s Hawaii right? Why do you need a gym exactly? Just go swim and run on the beach, ride a bike. Is it ever overcast?

well I like doing the stair stepper, and lifting wts. and looking at girls. So in your opion I should save up money for a yoga studio and that I would relley befit from it. more them a reg. old gym? Actually a though occured to me .I am relley getting tired of people coming in late and getting their mat and putting their keys away` its very distacting. Does this occur in a yoga studio?

Oh I see, the gym is where you will be trawling for your next date <lol>.
Yes then of course if that is the fertile ground for your next relationship by all means go to the gym <LOL>. Very funny. You are a young man I’m guessing. Or perhaps not.

Less tardy flk in a yoga studio. Fewer key rattlings.
You might still meet a girl, but please focus on YOUR practice and not your neighbors rear end, thank you very much.

sorry to sound like a prevert or something. I go to the gym to help me relax and make me feel good, keep healthy and to look good. I also find it very difficulty to meet girls at a gym anyway and just wish I could . THank you for the info that yoga studio are much quiet at the start. I llike that. Well I am 33 male. So please forgivie me. I am here for info and to make friends.

Just to add I do respect women and I love seeing the women in a gym work very hard. I hate seeing women slacking off at a gym. I also have put my mat away from the beauful girls so I can do my yoga without lossing my contration. I have found its impossibe to meet girl in the class because they leave faster then I can put my stuff away. THe purpose of my yoga is help getting rid of hearburn, worrying, to relax, It fun to learn.
