Flexibility

Hi everyone,

I’m new to this forum. Just joined today. :smiley:

I am practising yoga for the past three years. I’m hoping that someone can give me some tips on how to improve my flexibility.

My instructor said that I’m flexible on my back but the front and especially my legs are not flexible. I always had trouble in my forward bend, either in standing or sitting as I’m not able to touch the floor. I do had some improvement comparing to last time, i wasn’t able to touch my feet. My question is, how can i improve on that?

You should really talk to your instructor, she knows your body, and should be able to advise you the best on how to attain your goals.

Th most common thing for females and forward bends is having short hamstrings. If this is the case, work on stretching them out and lengthening them. Try to hold a forward bend standing and/or sitting everyday for at least 45 seconds.
It will all come in due time with a bit of work and patience.
