Recently, when I assume the kneeling, half backward bend or full backward bend postures, my left foot goes into intense pain for about 30 seconds. This might be a pinched nerve or “charlie horse”. I don’t know.
It can happen whenever I assume a posture where the foot is pointed out (away from the shin) such as the bow or cobra, but most often when I am in a position where the foot is pointed rearward (soles facing up) and I have my body weight on top of it. The point of pain is about 3" behind the big toe. I was wondering if anyone had some ideas about this kind of pain and it’s remedy. Thank you.
I don’t know what kind of pain that could be. It would be wise to consult someone with a medical background but I can give two tips for easing pain.
-
Fold a thick blanket And let your feet rest on that.

Don’t do the postures if they are causing a lot of pain. Forgo them for a bit till you pinpoint the issue. Pain is an indicator and we must remember to take note of it.
