Got myself these gloves and socks

I’ve been seeing ads for different gloves and socks for doing yoga in, instead of a mat. Looked smart to me so I bought them when I was in a store that had them.

I like them quite a lot actually.

Not only are they good for what I hoped they’d be good for (doing sun salutations on a slightly slippery floor), they also provide better grip in some asanas when I really need it and some support/protection in some other asanas.

They were a bit pricey though, I could get myself a decent mat for that price.

Mine are called Yoga Paws but I’m not here to advertise for them. They’re the only ones I’ve tried and there might very well be better ones out there, even at a better price.

I have wondered about these as I prefer to practice without a mat. My only concern was that they would feel binding. Do you get that sensation?

Binding? I’m not sure I understand what sensation this would be. English isn’t my first language… But ok, the gloves are not actually restricting any movement but it feels a little as if they were, if that makes any sense. The socks are very small and after a while I don’t feel them at all.

These are great for travel. I’ll be travelling around Puerto Rico for 10 days starting next week, and I’ll be bringing my Yoga Paws along. I don’t really find them binding - they velcro strap around your hands and feet. I have a student who uses them on her hands during class to help with wrist discomfort - it’s the only thing that works for her.
