Hello Vasu,
My position relative to bandhas is as follows:
Most students doing such practices are doing them without integrity. By that I mean they are not properly learned, properly used, or properly practiced. That, even with a golden practice, creates a level of disharmony in the practitioner. There could also be, in that practitioner, some “benefits” however I find them outweighed by the disharmony.
I have been practicing for a decade. For the last six years of my studies I’ve been with what I consider to be a master teacher. I have not, in that time done Uddiyana Bandha on more than one occasion.
Frankly, I’m a bit shocked that “yoga teachers” instruct students in such a thing soon after they graduate from beginner. Imagine my amazement when it’s done by those not instructed at all.
The residue in one’s particular body from one’s particular practice may not be “serious” however I tend to view bandhas and shatkarmas and pranayama as serious in the first place and so when they are taken lightly and done as though they were elixirs without the support of the surrounding practice(s) who really knows what goes on.
If one have concerns then I’d advise seeing a health care professional of their choosing AND I’d advise learning Yoga from a highly trained teacher and perhaps discontinuing the bandha until said teacher deems it appropriate to be learned and practiced.
