Heartaсhe after pranayama!

Hi!
I’ve got a little problem - too much capalabhati  Now experience some heartache. A few weeks have passed and it seems to get less now and I think that soon it will be gone at all.

Maybe you know some recommendations for such cases - how to decrease it, maybe some special asanas/mudras?

Thank you,
Namaste.

I’ve been taught that holding the breath after this parnayama can make some problems for your heart . Im not sure exactly what the problem will be, but I’ve got a heart infection after I’ve been holding the breath for 1.5 min in kabalabhati

Hi!

Hope you managed to cure it without problems.
Do you mean a holding breath after kapalbhati or during it (kumbhaka)?

As I know there are asanas for all kind of deceases, so maybe for this too.
Personaly I don’t know any (except of ‘heart mudra’, don’t know it’s sanskriti name).

Thank you,
Regards.

After the series of kabalabhati (fast exhales)I made a big inhale, engage all bandhas and hold for long time and it feels good ( illuminating skull:) My old teacher told me not to hold it for too long since it can damage the heart. But it felt so good, and made me hight, so I ignored…

do you hold the breath after kabalabhati?

its an interesting questions and i will do some research and share later

Hi!

No, I haven’t hold the breath afer kapalbhati. I’ve went to one school and they made it 110 times. This gives a high power increase especially when you are physicly tired (muscles ache and so on). So this is very intensive and stimulating by itself so I never wanted to go farther.

But this time this was too much intensive as I’ve had also Undzhai breath (from ashtanga) so it summarazid together and broke my heart a little

Now I don’t feel any discomfort except of when sitting in Sidhasana for a while.

I’ve switched to Nadi Shothana Pranajama instead of Kapalbhati.

Hope you will find asanas so I can fix myself

The pranayama you mention is not appropriate for beginning students, those lacking physiological alignment in asana, those with a vatta constitution, and those who have less than ten years of simple pranayma (ujjayi) in their bodies.

110??? Also, I was told not to do it more then 30 times/cycles of inhale-exhale in the first year. Before kabalabhati one need to cleanse the nadis with nadi shodhan and ujayi pranayam.
