Hello from a beginner in the UK

Hi everyone!

I’m 29 and have been practising yoga for nearly a year ( on and off )

I attend a weekly class which I love and my teacher is fantastic.

Its mostly hatha yoga and some meditation too.

I also practice yoga at home when I can, between 3-4 times a week if possible.

I suffer from nervous anxiety, teeth grinding and occasional depression (it varies), so yoga for me is a natural alternative for managing my stress levels and keeping me feeling healthy.

Due to circumstances not under my control I haven?t been able to practice for nearly 2 months and began again this week. I feel incredibly different when not doing yoga, I can?t believe how much of an impact it has on my mental and physical health.

I hope to find lots of interesting reading on here and look forward to posting some myself in the future!

Namaste

Have I said something wrong? I dont have any welcomes in here :frowning:

I’m so sorry for the late welcoming - not on purpose, WARMLY WELCOME:-)!!!

Hi acorn.

discovering yoga is a gift and can be a signifcant turning point in one’s life, usually towards leading a more natural and healthier lifestyle.

u need a yoga that serves you best.
i’ve had depression and nervous anxiety myself— it’s no fun.i’m probably lucky to be here, fo one reason or another. life can be quite crushing at times.howver to be alive is by the grace of God. to be here period, not just still here, that alone is quite remarkable, when you think about it.

pranayama can be quite good to calm the mind and a tonic for the nerves. combine with light asana and meditation.

nice to meet you and hope you enjoy your stay here.
hope you found my last post helpful.

i am glad you’ve joined the gang  i am sorry i missed you intro, though i have noticed your cute snail avatar!

Your snail is cool… You are not alone! We are all on a journey and I welcome your distinct insight. Yoga changed my life for the better and enriched my personal experience on this plane of existence.

A good journey to you!

Welcomes! And that avatar made me giggle. Very cute.
