Hello from Ibiza

I was born in Brasil in 1969

I live in Ibiza since 1990, I am an artist and Sivananda Hatha Yoga teacher .

I started practicing yoga following a paralysis caused by a thermal shock that mainly affected half of my face. The doctor recommended, apart from acupuncture and other techniques for recovery, the practice of yoga. This is how I started to recover and regain all the movements of my face.
But I also discovered a big passion of this philosophy of life, which years later made me become a teacher.

In addition to teaching yoga in Ibiza I also dedicate my life to painting, showing my work regulary on the island.

Through yoga, I have been changing my habits and my way of thinking.
My desire in teaching yoga is to share the art of yoga that has changed my life, and brought joy, grace, strength, inner peace, beauty, and a sense of empowerment to all that I do.

Welcome to the Land of Love, Lena,

Your story is very interesting & inspiring.I for one tend to associate Ibiza with the dance music culture.I am sure there must be openings there for long burned-out ravers & others.

WOW! I absolutly love the photos on your profile album! Also, what a great story of being brought to yoga. I woud love to see some of your artwork as I am a fellow painter. Welcome to the forum!

Greetings and welcome to the forum

Thank you for the compliment, if you like to see my art you can open my web about yoga and art,(lenatancredi.com) if you move the mouse to the right of the island you can enter for “ART” , to the left you enter “YOGA”. I will have a look on your blog aswell. I hope to hear from you.

Thank you very much David

Yes you are right! Ibiza is very famous for its partys and Djs from all over the world. But Ibiza is also a very big island, with lots of secret hiding places where you can be totaly in tha nature and in solitude, I live in a place on the top of a mountain in the midle of a pine forest overlooking the half of the island and the sea. Here it is really peaceful and you dont hear nothing more than than the wind and the birds.

Yes,my association is probabably a bit cliched.

What you have just descibed sounds gorgeous.Nothing quite beats a good view.A stunning panorama.Together with peace & quiet apart from mother nature, the birds & the bees.

Mountain-top location, indeed.

Yes, and apart of that, in the past I use to love the partyes in Ibiza, but time is changing ,Iam changing andnothing remains the same. I came to the island from Brasil 1990, I was 21 years old, fresh and ready for to dance all night long!! 20 years later I have danced and raved enough, beleave me!! I am a mother of 2 kids, 12 and 16 years old. That means to wake up early in the morning everyday. Also my work of teaching Yoga early in the morning, so… not so much time for party, but I confess I still love it, to dance , to celebrate, to enjoy untill the end, but, with much more moderation than 20 years ago!!!

Same here.I now find it really boring.Sooo old hat.I can see through it all. That was along time ago for me too. There was a scene where i live in the uk which i was into in the early 90’s right at the start on the tail-end of all the rave-culture.Blast-off 1 i think it was called was my first rave in a private warehouse which was eventually busted in the early hourse then next day the cops showed up.- an acid and a denace-the-menace capsule i took (91 i think).Still some still party. Not really for me though. It’s too tied up with the drug-culture and i think i’ve moved on since then.I was in my first year at uni when i got into all of that.
