Hello

I’m a 21 male from New Jersey, USA. I heard Yoga is a way of life, I was interested in buddhism, but then I dropped it once i read up on how they believe that there’s life after death in a new form without any proof. Hard to accept something like that. I want to do this by myself, i’m a self-teaching kinda guy. I’d like to learn the how-to and then i want to begin right away. I’m not in a rush or anything, it’s just that I want to jump into it and do it for awile and if it works then i’m gonna be doing it everyday.

Can I integrate it with other things, or is Yoga an entire way of life by itself? I also have a special diet i guess. Like I believe in only eating what I was born to eat (but i’ll occationally eat/drink things not apart of my diet when offered), like raw eggs (inspected by me for salmonella), fruits, vegetables, soy, grains, etc. and etc. That’s pretty much my diet in a nut shell, I know I can’t only consume what I as a human is made to consume strictly forever, but I atleast want to limit consuming cooked beef like in burgers or steak or chicken. I believe when you can eat something raw, it’s natures way of telling you that it’s right for you. That’s why we get intestinal parasites if we eat raw beef or pork. Not too sure about raw chicken… And as far as fish goes, if I can eat it raw, than it’s gonna be in my diet

I also do sit ups, push ups, pull ups and I run around which is like a natural human work out instead of going to the gym and drinking protein enriched drinks. Too much protein isn’t good for you and the protein you get from say beef doesn’t have the right amount of amino acids, so the protein in beef is kinda…garbage.

But as far as Yoga goes, can I get a list of some sort/instructions on how to do it myself? Like a “how-to” type of thing? It seems like a really good thing. Is the meditational aspect pretty much what it is? Or does it stretch to philosophy/politics/and how you should live your life in general?

Thanks!!!
