Hi Everyone
Any help that can be given will be most appreciated, I am really desperate and dont really want to go down the surgical route of athroscopy.
I have a 4.5 year old daughter who has been giagnosed with a discoid lateral meniscus after a MRI scan.
The radiologist has reported the following:
The discoid lateral meniscus has expanded with abnormal intrinsic signal due to mucoid degeneration. There is significant thickening of the inner portion of the discoid lateral meniscus which may be responsible for the locking of the knee. Normal appearance of the medial meniscus. Intact cruciate and collateral ligaments as well as the extensor tendons. The visualised bones return normal marrow signal.
The knee can move backwards and forwards but is -30 degrees from a full extension of 180 degrees however can move perfectly fine backwards or side wards.
Please, please reply ASAP your answers will be most appreciated as I realy want to avoid surgery.
