Help required urgently regardin yoga

Hi All

I am doing Anulom vilom prayanama for the last 30 days twice daily for 15 minutes. I found that i have mild headache . later on after seeing the ramdev baba’s video i found that i am doing prayanama in wrong way.I am not taking deep breaths rather i am taking short braeths. Is the headache is the cause for doing anulom vilom prayanama wrongly.
what to do now. Currently i stopped doing anulom vilom. Now i got the right technique to do it.
will i resume with the right technique or wait for few days
Can anybody please help

Such questions should be posed to the person you’ve chosen to teach you the practice of Yoga.

If you read it it is obvious he had no teacher so i dont see it as wrong to ask such question but this is doubleposted.

Btw first week just do one side depending on time of day if evening inhale from left and exhale from Right this is 1 round , then start from left again. So that you balance the prana first. After 1 week start anulom vilom.

Just to clarify my position…

Of course I read it. I never reply to an OP or respondent without first reading their text. In fact I often read them several times before composing a reply. Nothing is done without a reason, purpose, and intention.

I make as few assumptions as I possibly can. Instead I prefer a more complete communication from the poster. In this particular case a) I don’t assume the OP doesn’t have a teacher merely because he/she is referencing Ramdev and a video and b) the source IS the teacher and this is an important point to convey to students.

In addition I made no statement saying anything was “wrong”. There’s nothing “wrong” here at all. However the posting gets a result, just as trikonasana gets a result. And that result is one way when the posture is aligned and another way when it is not.

Do u need a direction on how to do it? i think anuloma is the same as alternate nostril?? if so i can cut paste from the Source for you and share my experience with this pranayama. Nothing terrible will happen if you have practiced it incorrectly.

You dont need to explain your self. Maybe i was wrong maybe you no big deal.

If he had a teacher that was teaching him wrong of course he should ask here, instead of asking the teacher.

And in the west as well as india there are many teachers with very little knowledge and others think they have it or give a shine of it. Anyone these days can take teacher training course and become a teacher so here the problem lies, so we cant rely on the teacher as the teacher could be wrong.

AS you are a teacher with good knowledge about asanas you could actually have helped him but you referred him to his “teacher” instead. IF your goal is enlightenment you should take all these opportunities that is put before you to help people. See them as cosmos is testing you. situations like these are gold worth.

So for a beginner with probably not so much knowledge should not rely on THE teacher. He should collect info from many like a bee collecting nectar going from flower to flower.
