Hey Everyone! Just wanted to say hi and see what the yoga forums were all about. I did a search for yoga forums because I had a few questions and this site came up. I’ve been interested in yoga for at least 5 years but was discouraged from it a few years ago. Now I’m ready to try it again. Wish me luck!
why were you discouraged?
Started doing yoga from a dvd I bought at walmart, then shortly after I had to visit the doc and a nutritionist for medical issues. The nutritionist asked if I was exercising and I said yes, I’m doing yoga, then she said I need to do more cardio. So I kinda gave up on yoga and started doing cardio instead. I guess it was the way she told me, didn’t sound like she really wanted me doing this.
I star yoga in 2003, when I had my first panic attack. I wasn’t taking it seriusly, when in 2008 I had a serius digestive problem…psychosomatic stuff you know!!!
Then I started to do ashtanga and kundalini yoga something like 5 times a week.
My life has changed forever
Before 2003 I did muay thai fitness and a lot of cardio…nothing is like yoga!
I have extreme stress, and although I know that practicing will help me a lot, I tend to avoid it. I cannot excuse myself but I need a bit motivation.
I used to practise yoga a lot in the past.

Hey, Hitchhiker…! I’m new here, too. I used to teach Ashtanga and got discouraged with a lot of things, too. My journey led me back to the flutes and yoga/brainwave entrainment music I make. I’m just now flirting with the return to my yoga practice. Time off helped me get much clearer on several issues. Good luck with your journey…!
